The Let's Move! campaign will host a live webinar this Thursday, Nov. 29, as part of the Let's Move Faith and Communities sub-component, which coordinates the participation of religious and neighborhood organizations in First Lady Michelle Obama's childhood obesity initiative. During the 2:00 PM ET event, Sue Heitmuller, Manager of Health Ministry and Community Benefits for Adventist HealthCare, will "offer thoughts on the important role of health in faith settings and provide an overview on how to develop health leadership in your community," according to Let's Move!.
The webinar is free but registration is required for access to the livestream. Heitmuller will be joined onscreen by "other community leaders" for the discussion, according to Let's Move!.
Mrs. Obama launched Let's Move! Faith and Communities in November of 2010 in an effort to bring leaders and members of churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples into the Let's Move! fold, as well as large-scale community organizations, such as Scouting and Boys and Girls Clubs. The subcomponent has been identified by Mrs. Obama's team as crucial to the success of her initiative. When she marked the second anniversary of Let's Move! last year, Mrs. Obama delivered the keynote address at Northland, a Church Distributed in Longwood, Florida. Speaking to an audience of more than 3,000, Mrs. Obama called on faith leaders to join her campaign.
