The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah

Psalm 22 New King James Version (NKJV)

To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Deer of the Dawn.” A Psalm of David.

22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.
5 They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.
6 But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7 All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”
9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mother’s womb
You have been My God.
11 Be not far from Me,
For trouble is near;
For there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have surrounded Me;
Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
13 They gape at Me with their mouths,
Like a raging and roaring lion.
14 I am poured out like water,
And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted within Me.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.
16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.
18 They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.
19 But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20 Deliver Me from the sword,
My precious life from the power of the dog.
21 Save Me from the lion’s mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!
You have answered Me.
22 I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.
25 My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
Let your heart live forever!
27 All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.[d]
28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations.
29 All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.
30 A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

7 Last Words of Jesus - 2.Luke 23:43: Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.

39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Here the criminal, who in his own words was being justly crucified, said to Jesus, remember me, when you come into your kingdom. He did not ask to be saved or to be forgiven. He simply asked Jesus to remember him when he is in heaven, asking for help which he did not deserve.

Unknowingly he confessed that he knew and believed that Jesus was the Son of God by saying “when you enter your kingdom.” He confessed his faith when he said to the other criminal that Jesus was without sin and did not deserve this death. He knew Jesus was innocent of all crime.
Jesus, weak from blood loss and pain, speaks the most unbelievable words, the words you would never expect from someone who is being crucified, “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

How we wish Jesus would speak those words to us the day we die. With these words Jesus says, “you are forgiven.” He says, “I will rescue you and take you to my Father in heaven, where there will not be any suffering, any pain, any sickness or disease. There will not be any senseless violence or injustice.” With these words Jesus says, “you will live in paradise with God the Father forever, your time of struggling is over I will take you in.”

“Today you will be with me in paradise,” is one of the most precious words of the Bible that we Christians remember and share with others because it most clearly shows the amazing grace of our heavenly Father. It says that God loves you and forgives, and holds you in his arms no matter who you are or what you have done. It says I love you even though you do not deserve it.

These words of Christ teach us that through Jesus, death is no longer the end. It is no longer the end of our existence, nor the end of who we are, but the beginning. It is the birth into a new and better reality, a life in the presence God and His loving care and kindness.

BeBe and CeCe Winans--"The Blood Will Never Loose It's Power"--Tribute To Andrae

Verse 1:
The blood that Jesus she'd for me,
Way back on Calvary;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose it's power.

Chorus:
It reaches to the highest mountain,
It flows to the lowest valley;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose it's power.

Verse 2:
It soothes my doubts and calms my fears,
And it dries all my tears;
The blood that gives me strength
From day to day,
It will never lose it's power.

Chorus

7 Last Words of Jesus - Jesus Speaks to the Father

Luke 23:34
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (NIV)

In the midst of his excruciating suffering, the heart of Jesus was focused on others rather than himself. Here we see the nature of his love—unconditional and divine.

Father Who Sees In Secret will Reward You

Matthew 6: 5, 7 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

 “And whenever you pray, do not be like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

When I pray I will go into my room and shut the door. ... I will pray in mu secret place .. my private place to commune with You ...  because Father you see me in secret  and will reward me openly.

Worship Song of the Day - Israel:Hughton & New Breed - Your Presence Is Heaven To Me

Who is like You Lord in all the earth?
Matchless love and beauty, endless worth
Nothing in this world can satisfy
'Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry

Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me

Treasure of my heart and of my soul
In my weakness you are merciful
Redeemer of my past and present wrongs
Holder of my future days to come

Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me
Heaven to me, God

Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me
Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me

All my days on earth I will await
The moment that I see You face to face
Nothing in this world can satisfy
'Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry
'Cause Jesus You're the cup that won't run dry
You never run dry

Your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me
Lord your presence is heaven to me
Your presence is heaven to me

Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me
Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus
Your presence is heaven to me

Strive First for the Kingdom of God

Matthew 6:31-33New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

"Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’   For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.   But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Lord I set my will to strive first for Your kingdom and Your righteousness. I thank you Father that You will perfect my corncerns and that I will not worry about what I shall eat, drink or wear; because you will give these things to me.

Love for Enemies

Matthew 5:43 - 48 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

 "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,  so that you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.  For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?  And if you greet only your brothers and sisters, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?  Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

I will love my enemies and I will pray for those who persecute me.  I am a child of  God and my life will reflect
